TERRACE BAY HAVEN TERRACE BAY "Gem of the North Shore"
Located about two miles from the town of Terrace
Bay, the docking facilities at the mouth of the Aguasabon River can accommodate
boats with a draft of three feet or less and there is a ramp for launching boats
up to 22 feet in length.
The lakeside golf club provides a picturesque setting for dinner or a round of
golf. Swim and soak up the sun on the sandy beach at the mouth of the Aguasabon
River or stretch your legs and explore the unspoiled wilderness of the Canadian
Shield. Follow the trail from Aguasabon Beach to the observation deck high
on a clifftop for a breathtaking view of the roaring 100-foot falls. The scenic
45 km (28 mi) Casque Isles Hiking Trail hugs the rugged coastline from Terrace
Bay to Rossport. Pictographs and the remnants of an old mining camp provide
a glimpse into the past.
East of Terrace Bay an interesting side trip into Jackfish Bay will give you
a mariner's eye view of the great, "Jackfish Curve", an engineering wonder
when built in the late 1800's.
