    • RED ROCK MARINA

      RED ROCK "By The Bay"

The 50-slip marina on the western shore of Nipigon Bay is protected by a breakwall that was built as an innovative demonstration project of the Lake Superior Programs Office. It integrates fish and wildlife habitat into standard breakwall design. Gas and diesel fuel, pumpout, water, electrical and launch facilities are available at the marina.

Tree-lined streets and friendly people welcome visitors to this industrious community that takes its name from the distinctive layers of rusty red stone visible in the surrounding cliffs.

A well-equipped playground in the waterfront park provides a welcome diversion for the junior members of the crew. A grocery store, convenience store, liquor and beer store, post office and automatic teller banking facilities are located within easy walking distance from the marina. Excellent, home-style meals are available at the nearby recreation centre which features a bowling alley, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts. Boaters are always welcome at the historic Red Rock Inn which provides shower facilities, accommodation and casual fine dining.

      Caribou Cove Haven

Once a base camp for a commercial fishing operation on Nipigon Bay, Caribou Cove provides a haven for recreational boaters on the northwest shore of St. Ignace Island near the Nipigon Strait. Bask in the warmth of a steam bath or enjoy the view from the dock. A cabin offers shelter during inclement weather.
